Protecting the Youngest: Global Child Forum’s Call for Children Amidst Escalating Violence in Gaza and Israel

October 2023

The escalating conflict in the Gaza Strip and Israel has caused immense suffering, leading to loss of lives, injuries, and displacement of countless families, especially children who have lost parental care or are at risk.

Global Child Forum urges all parties involved to protect children and adhere to international human rights laws, including the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Children and young people remain among the most vulnerable, bearing the brunt of violence, deprivation, and inequalities stemming from this conflict. The repercussions, both in human and humanitarian terms, along with psychological consequences for all children and their families, will be profound and enduring.

Our mission is to ensure that all stakeholders uphold children’s rights, with a focus on the private sector. However, at this critical moment, we seek not only children’s rights but also compassion and empathy, working towards a secure and nurturing world for children to thrive.
