Global Child Forum’s Benchmark Report 2026 has arrived

The Benchmark Report (The State of Children’s Rights and Business 2026) has assessed 1802 influential companies, from 8 sectors and 6 regions.

What does the report reveal?

1. Overall progress has stalled.

After rising from 4.3 to 5.0 last year, the global average score for companies has levelled off at 4.9/10 in 2026.

2. Children are seldom engaged as stakeholders.

A mere 3% of benchmarked companies consult children within their decision-making.

3. Children are overlooked as material – beyond child labour.

55% of companies identify children as material in the Workplace impact area (where child labour is a key issue) – but only 18% do so in Community & Environment, and even fewer (9%) in the Marketplace impact area.

4. Environmental impacts on children are underreported.

92% of companies disclose nothing regarding negative impacts on children in surrounding communities.
