PRESS RELEASE: Global Child Forum awarded IKEA Foundation grant, reinforcing support for children’s rights in business

STOCKHOLM, 1 April 2018

Global Child Forum is the proud recipient of an IKEA Foundation grant totalling 38.5 million SEK, fortifying the organization’s efforts to ensure that children’s rights are supported and advanced among the corporate sector.

Global Child Forum brings together thought leaders and influencers from business, civil society, academia and governments, to accelerates action for social change around children’s rights. The organization primarily works with businesses around the world, encouraging them to use their power and influence to protect and promote children’s rights. The four-year IKEA Foundation grant is a renewal of a relationship initiated in 2013, underscoring IKEA Foundations’ conviction in Global Child Forum’s work and impact.

“The private sector has an important role to play in fostering solutions to some of the most pressing challenges facing children,” says Ulrika Nilsson, Global Child Forum’s Managing Director.  “Thanks to this grant and the IKEA Foundation, we will be able to continue to create the information, knowledge and data needed by the private sector to take action and bring children’s rights into the heart of their operations and communities”

IKEA Foundation, the philanthropic arm of IKEA, works to create substantial and lasting change by funding holistic, long-term programmes in some of the world’s poorest communities that address children’s fundamental needs.
